Thunder Basketball Teams Find Success on the Road!

Both our Prep and Varsity teams won two games this weekend at the Southern Regional Qualifying Tournament in Birmingham. The Prep team lost their final game in a nail biter coming up just 2 points short. But our very own JayRod took home the HUSTLE AWARD. It will only be a matter of time before he will be filling up the basket and breaking all kinds of records. The entire team played their hearts out and should be proud of the effort put forth.

The Thunder Varsity beat teams from Dallas and Philadelphia to take second place in the tournament. Chad was selected to the All Tournament Team and we could not be more proud of him and his dedication to becoming the best team player he can be. Jessica lit up the boards with 21 rebounds in the Championship game despite playing with injuries–wow.

Both teams, played their hardest, played their best, and had fun. Isn’t that what it is all about? Thanks to all the parents and coaches who gave their time to help give these awesome kids another “Life Experience.”

Both teams are off to Atlanta, Georgia for the SEC wheelchair tournament March 9 and 10. GO THUNDER!!
