Music City THUNDER Heads to National Tournament

That’s right, it is official. With three wins this past
weekend in INDY, the Music City Thunder Varsity
Wheelchair Basketball team will be heading to Louisville, KY
on Wed. April 17th to compete in the 2013 Junior NIT National Tournament.
They went to INDY with one thing on their minds, and that was to win and gain an
invitation to the big dance. They started out knowing that a loss to the Chicago Bulls
would eliminate any further talk of extending their season. Holding the Bulls to just
14 points they moved on to another must win against the Michigan Pistons.
The Pistons could only muster up 8 points and Thunder went to sleep knowing
that they had to come out on Sunday against the home crowd in Indianapolis and
stop the number 26 team, RHI Racers, in at least one of two games to get the ear
of the NWBA selection committee . THEY DID THAT in a very hard game with both
Billy and Chad fouling out and having to watch while the bench took over in
getting the win.  Thunder had to play RHI a second time and came up short and
just hoped they had done enough. We know now they did.
It has been a tough season for Thunder but winning 5 out of their last 8 games,
they have accomplished a goal they set way back in August to go to Nationals.
Congratulation AJ, Billy, Jessica, Madison, Molly, Chad, Quinten and Reagan.
You all deserve this and we will extend our season long enough to
BUILD SOME MORE LIFE EXPERIENCES
Our thanks to Rick, ABLE Youth, Fleet One and all of our sponsors for making this season
possible.
Byron
